Author Visits

For me, one of the greatest joys of creating these children's books is sharing them with the tamariki they are written for. Through readings, discussion, and pātai, students will learn about the process of writing and publishing pukapuka.
What teachers are saying
"Mary captivated our young learners as she read from her delightful Explore with Me stories, taking them on a journey through the places, people, and landscapes that make our local regions so special. Mary shared the inspiration behind her books and explained how her love of the outdoors, local communities, and the unique character of each district sparked the idea for her place-based stories. She also gave students an insight into the creative process, from writing in rhythm and rhyme to the challenges and rewards of self-publishing."
- Miss Evans, Twizel Area School
